Inspired by the act of collage, during which one decisively slices away potential futures with each cut. In order to construct a tiger’s mouth, I cut the head off of a red bird and glued it down. Abstracting a creature into a color, I mourned the loss of any collages that could have featured a the bird as a whole but celebrated the willingness to destroy for the sake of a vision.
